We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. By using our Site and Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide Directly to Us:

  • For Pet Owners (Clients):

    • Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, and password.
    • Pet Information: Details about your pet(s), including name, breed, age, gender, weight, medical history, vaccinations, behavioral traits, dietary needs, care instructions, and photographs of your pet(s).
    • Booking Information: Details of the services you request, dates, times, and special instructions.
    • Payment Information: When you make a purchase or book a service, Time to Pet collects payment information, such as credit/debit card details. This information is typically processed securely by their third-party payment processors (Stripe). We do not directly store any of your credit card information.
    • Communications: Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses and chat messages) if you contact us or communicate with Independent Contractors (ICs) through our platform.

  • For Independent Contractors (ICs):

    • Application Information: When you apply to become an IC, we collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, experience, skills, references, service areas, availability, and government-issued identification for verification.
    • Profile Information: Information you choose to display on your public profile, such as a biography, photos, services offered, and service rates.
    • Background Check Information: With your consent, we may facilitate background checks through a third-party provider. The information collected for this purpose is handled according to that provider’s privacy policy.
    • Payment Information: Bank account details or other payment information necessary to process your earnings.
    • Communications: Records of your communications with us and with Clients through our platform.

  • For e-Store Customers & Resource Center Users:

    • Order Information: If you purchase products from our e-store, we collect your name, shipping address, billing address, email, phone number, and order details.
    • Newsletter/Download Information: If you subscribe to our newsletter or download resources, we collect your name and email address.

b. Information We Collect Automatically:

  • Log Data and Usage Information: When you access our Site, we may automatically collect certain information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, pages viewed, links clicked, the dates and times of your visits, and other usage statistics.

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • To send you marketing and promotional communications (with your consent, where required by law), including newsletters and information about new services or products we think you may find interesting. You can opt-out of these at any time.
  • To personalize your experience on our Site and recommend relevant services or products.
  • To operate and manage our e-commerce store and fulfill orders.
  • To provide and manage our resource center content.
  • To improve our Site, Services, and offerings through analysis and research.
  • To monitor the usage of our Services for security purposes, fraud prevention, and to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service.

  • To conduct background checks on ICs (with their consent).

  • With Independent Contractors (ICs): If you are a Pet Owner, we will share your relevant personal information (name, contact details, address for service, pet information, care instructions) with the IC(s) assigned to provide services to you. This is essential for them to perform the booked services.
  • With Pet Owners (Clients): If you are an IC, your profile information (name, photo, bio, services offered, general service area, reviews) will be visible to Pet Owners seeking services. Once a service is booked, Pet Owners will receive necessary contact information to communicate with you.
  • With Third-Party Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. These may include:
    • Payment processing.
    • Website hosting and infrastructure (Odoo).
    • Pet care management software (Time To Pet).
    • Background check services for ICs (Sentrylink).
    • Data analytics providers (Google Analytics).
    • Email marketing and communication platforms.
    • Customer support tools.
    • Shipping and fulfillment partners for e-Store orders. These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency), to protect the rights, property, or safety of Critter Caretakers, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our Site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.
